Yakov Emelyanovich Emelyanov was born in 1848. Priest of the Russian Orthodox Church, Kryashen poet, teacher. He became famous among the Kryashens thanks to two collections of poems published during his lifetime.
Almost all of the poet's work is devoted to one theme that has captured all his heart and soul - the life of the people.
The poet masterfully depicts the daily “bittersweet” life of the Kryashen people for the reader, talks about the hardships and hardships of an ordinary person, about grief and sorrows, about the oppression that he experiences because of the greed and duplicity of the people around him.
He ends his life on February 3, 1893, barely reaching the age of 45.
