William Edmondstone Eitune

Scottish poet was a lawyer by training and professor of rhetoric and fine literature at the University of Edinburgh. The only son in the family of Roger Aitoun, bishop and director of the Chancery of Scotland. His mother instilled in Aitoun a love of literature and poetry from an early age. He graduated from Edinburgh Academy, and then from the University of Edinburgh.
