Akhmet Abdulovich Iskhakov was born on May 1, 1905, in Kazan. Tatar poet, translator, journalist, satirist. Participant of the Great Patriotic War. A member of the CPSU since 1945. About 40 books were published alive. Akhmet Iskhak actively worked for almost 70 years, leaving a large literary heritage: poems, satirical and humorous works, fables, fairy tales for children, opera librettos, literary and critical works devoted to the works by G.Tuqay and M. Jalil, etc. He translated into Tatar the works of Pushkin, Lermontov, Mayakovsky, Shevchenko, Navoi and others. Translations into Tatar of Russian, Oriental and Turkic classical poetry amount to more than a hundred thousand lines.
