Vsevolod Eduardovich Bagritsky was born in 1922 in Odesa, USSR. Russian Soviet writer, poet and journalist, war correspondent. During his lifetime, his poems were almost never published. one of those poets who received virtually no recognition during his lifetime. This, however, did not happen for censorship reasons, but because of the early death of the poet - Bagritsky died at the front on February 26, 1942, being only 20 years old.
Unfortunately, this poet is best known for the rather unsightly fact of his biography - plagiarism. In 1938, he got an unpublished poem by Osip Mandelstam, already arrested by that time, "The Goldfinch", which Bagritsky passed off as his own.
