Viktor Fedorovich Bokov was born on October 2, 1914, in the village of Yazvitsy, Vladimir province, Russian Empire. Russian and Soviet poet, prose writer, collector of folklore. He published his first poem in 1930 in the Zagorsk newspaper Vperyod. As the distinctive features of Bokov's poetry, they note sonority, saturation with alliterations and assonances. The songs “A young agronomist went out into the fields”, “I look into spacious fields”, “A young sailor is travelling on leave”, “Orenburg downy shawl”, “Silence on the Mamayev Kurgan”, “I will call you a zorenka” and others were widely performed during the Soviet era and are often perceived as a folkloric reflection of the 1950-1960s era.
