Russian writer and poetess, memoirist, translator, author of such famous stories as "The Demonic Woman" and "Ke Fer".  She emigrated after the revolution.
Her real name was Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Lokhvitskaya (after marriage - Buchinskaya).
Teffi was known for her satirical poems and feuilletons, she was a regular contributor to the magazine Satirikon. Teffi's satire was often very original: for example, the poem "From Mickiewicz" (1905) is based on a parallel between Adam Mickiewicz's well-known ballad "Voevoda" and a specific, recently occurring topical event. Taffy's stories were systematically published by such reputable Paris newspapers and magazines as Coming Russia, Zveno, Russian Notes, and Sovremennye Zapiski. An admirer of Teffi was Nicholas II.
