Salih Vazykhovich Battalov was born on August 5, 1905, in the village of Bolshie Tiganaly, Bilyarsky District, Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, in a peasant family.
S. Battalov is a talented poet, restless in his literary searches, bold and active in covering the most important and topics of modern life.
One of the best poetic works of S. Battalov is the story in verse "On the Highway" (1949). The poet found accurate, from the depths of his soul, words to express the labour pathos of the collective farm peasantry, to reveal the high spiritual qualities of ordinary Soviet people and their struggle with the remnants of the past. The strength of S. Battalov's story lies in its lyricism and poetry, in the deep truth of life.
S. Battalov tells about the military feat, about the courage and moral strength of the pilots of the Soviet aviation - defenders of the Fatherland in verses and norms of the period of the Great Patriotic War.
The writer died on March 12, 1995, in Kazan.
