Konstantin Yakovlevich Vanshenkin was born on December 17, 1925, in Moscow, USSR. Soviet and Russian poet, author of the words of popular songs "I love you, life", "Alyosha" and others. Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1985) and the Russian Federation State Prize (2001). He is known primarily for his songs, most of which were composed by Eduard Kolmanovsky and Yan Frenkel.
Vanshenkin's most glorified songs "I love you, life" (she became his calling card), "Alyosha", "Waltz of Parting", "Zhenya", "How to see off the steamers." Since the early 1960s. wrote prose, mostly autobiographical. Author of the stories "Army Youth" (1960), "Avdyushin and Egorychev" (1962), "Big Fires" (1964), "Decanter with a Rooster" (1968), short stories, etc.
