Ibrahim Yusupovich Kushaev was born presumably in 1886 in one of the districts on the border of what is now Tatarstan and Bashkortostan. Immediately after the Great October Socialist Revolution, in December 1917 on his own volition went into the Red Army. In Kazan, completed the training courses, became a cavalry commander, served at the fronts as a platoon commander. He was wounded several times. In March 1921 Ibrahim was sent to Turkestan. There he participated in the struggle against Central Asian Basmachi.
He contracted dengue fever in Central Asia and died. The exact date of death has not been determined.
