Galimzhan Gilmanov

Galimzhan Gilmanov was born on February 1, 1957, in the village Asyanovo in the Dyurtyulinsky region of the Republic of Bashkortostan in the family of collective farmers. Gilmanov had been engaged in creative work since 1973 (his first publication) and now he is published practically in all newspapers and magazines of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, partially in Moscow ("Druzhba narodov", "Nash Sovremennik", etc.). He is also well known in the Chuvash Republic, Mari El, and other regions of Russia. He is known to a wide range of readers as a writer, mythologist, prose writer, songwriter, publicist (journalist) and playwright, and is also a great specialist in ritual art and organizer of literary and musical evenings on a national scale.
