Hardy, Arthur Sherburne was an American diplomat and writer. He was the US Resident Minister and Consul General in Tehran, Persia; Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Greece, Romania, Serbia, Switzerland and Spain.
For two years he was the editor of the Cosmopolitan magazine; for several years he taught civil engineering and mathematics at Dartmouth College.
Graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1869; appointed from the state of Massachusetts.
Author of the books "The Song of Two" (poems);  "Wind of Destiny," "But Yet a Woman", etc.
He was also a member of the Century and Authors ' Clubs (New York).
